Husika Alliance through the Linda Dada initiative a Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) project specifically targets adolescent girls and young women aged between 10 and 27 years in the Northeastern part of Kenya, focusing on Mandera County. The primary objective of the project is to address the unique challenges faced by this demographic group and promote their well-being through a multifaceted approach.
The project seeks to empower adolescent girls and young women by providing them with comprehensive information on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). This includes offering training programs that equip them with knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
A key component of Linda Dada's initiatives involves addressing menstrual hygiene management by providing reusable sanitary towels to school-going girls. By doing so, the project not only contributes to safeguarding the dignity of girl children but also aims to eliminate one of the common challenges that often leads to absenteeism among schoolgirls.
A key feature of Linda Dada is its collaborative approach. The project actively engages with community stakeholders, partner organizations, donors, and government agencies. By incorporating various perspectives and resources, Linda Dada seeks to create safe and dignified spaces for young girls in the region, fostering an environment where they can thrive, learn, and develop to their full potential. Through this comprehensive strategy, Linda Dada aims to make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of adolescent girls and young women in the Northeastern part of Kenya.
